ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

       Gregory Laut creates unique works of art using a variety of mediums and techniques including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and mixed media. Primarily working in color, abstraction, and materiality Greg is interested in the phenomenon of perception, chaos, pattern recognition, and the underlying physical and metaphysical forces of our reality.  Growing up in Philadelphia, his first job was at a thrift store.  A fact which ties into his love of materials and his consciousness of the affects our consumeristic society has on both an individual and societal level.  Greg enjoys living in the large and historical city of Philadelphia which allows him ample opportunities to scavenge found materials, or purchase second hand, breathing new life into the discarded.
